DHAKA, March 4, 2026 (BSS) - Leaders and advisors of the Bangladesh Nationalist Fine and Craft Artists' Party met with three government ministers today to discuss the development of the country's arts and crafts sector.

During a meeting with Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury, the party representatives highlighted the current challenges facing fine and craft artists in Bangladesh. They submitted a 21-point proposal aimed at promoting and supporting the sector.

According to a press release, around one million people in Bangladesh work in creative professions. Despite the importance of these professions in the global market, many local artists lack professional recognition, and there is no standard institutional accreditation.

The proposals submitted by the party seek to address these gaps and bring the concerns of fine and craft artists to the attention of the government. The discussions also included meetings with Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md. Asaduzzaman and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat.
