Dol Yatra festival celebrated with religious fervor in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, March 4, 2026 (BSS) - The Dol Yatra festival was celebrated with religious devotion and colorful festivities here in the district.

The day-long event was held at the Bangladesh Sevashram Central Temple in the Gora Nalua area of Chitalmari upazila. MP Md. Mashiur Rahman Khan attended the celebration.

According to the organizers, several lakh devotees from different parts of the country gathered to take part in the festival. The program began in the morning with worship, recitation of the Gita, and kirtan. Later, a colorful procession was brought out, parading through the surrounding roads.

The entire area was filled with the vibrant colors of abir as people of all ages enthusiastically joined the celebrations. Despite the large gathering, special measures were taken to maintain order and ensure security.

Religious speakers said that Dol Yatra promotes the values of brotherhood, tolerance and communal harmony. The program concluded with the distribution of prasad among devotees.
