KU VC stresses importance of tech skills for global competitiveness

KHULNA, April 1, 2026 (BSS) -Khulna University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim today emphasized that acquiring technological skills is essential for staying competitive in the global arena.

He made the remarks during a surprise visit to classes of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Discipline around noon.

During the visit, the VC interacted with students in classrooms, inquiring about teaching methods, their attentiveness, and understanding of course materials.

Addressing the students, he said university life offers a crucial opportunity to build one's future and define life goals. He stressed that along with academic studies, active participation in co-curricular activities is vital for developing leadership qualities and managing stress effectively.

Highlighting global trends, the VC noted that information technology and artificial intelligence are rapidly transforming the world. To keep pace with the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, he said students must develop skills in AI and other modern technologies to strengthen their position in global competition.

He also said the university has taken initiatives to gradually establish modern computer laboratories across different disciplines to support this goal.

During the interaction, students raised several issues related to their discipline. The VC listened to their concerns and assured that the problems would be addressed in phases.
