Rain likely

DHAKA, Apr 17, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted that rain would occur in different parts of the country in next 24 hours commencing from 9 am. 

"Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions with hails at isolated places and weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country," a Met office bulletin said.

Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country. 

The highest temperature was recorded on Thursday 36.5 degrees Celsius in Kumarkhali under Khulna division while today's minimum temperature was 20.6 degrees Celsius in Dimla under Rangpur division. 

The sun sets at 6.21 pm today and rises at 5.35 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
