DHAKA, April 27, 2026 (BSS): A month-long campaign titled “Hour of AI in Bangladesh–2026” has been launched in all secondary schools of the country to equip the students with coding and programming skills and help to build a knowledge-based, innovative Bangladesh.

The campaign, which began here yesterday, will continue until May 26.

According to an order issued by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), field-level education officials have been instructed to implement the initiative.

The campaign is being conducted under the initiative of the DSHE, with support from the global organization Code.org and technical assistance from Aspire to Innovate (a2i).

Students from grades six to nine in all secondary schools across the country will have the opportunity to participate. The main objective of the program is to provide the students with foundational knowledge of coding,  programming and prepare them to face the challenges of future artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

As per the DSHE guidelines, ICT4E Ambassadors from the “Shikkhok Batayon” platform and ICT teachers will be involved in implementing the campaign. The teachers will follow the designated guidelines to register students on the “Kishore Batayon” platform and conduct the activities.

To ensure successful implementation, Regional Deputy Directors, District Education Officers and Upazila/Thana Secondary Education Officers under DSHE have been assigned responsibilities for coordination through online meetings and field-level supervision.
