CHITTAGONG UNIVERSITY, May 2, 2026 (BSS) - World Bank and the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) project delegations called on Chittagong University (CU) Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Forkan at the latter's office on the campus this noon.

Earlier, the team visited three ongoing projects on the campus. Pro-Vice Chancellor (admin) Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin and acting Registrar Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saiful Islam were also present during the visit.

"I assessed progress of several projects on site. We want the projects to be completed through research-based work and achieve good results. We don't want to confine the projects within just infrastructure," said Prof. Forkan.

"We expect research to yield tangible outputs that will benefit both individual departments and the university as a whole," he added.

The visiting guests included World Bank Senior Education Specialist T.M. Asaduzzaman, Senior Economist Toby Linden, Senior Consultant Dr. Md. Mahmudul Haque, HEAT Project Director Prof. Dr. Asaduzzaman, Deputy Director Md. Shahidul Islam and Acting Director of the Planning and Development Office of CU Md. Altaf-ul-Alam, among others.
