282 measles cases confirmed in 24 hours: DGHS

DHAKA, May 8, 2026 (BSS)- Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today reported 282 confirmed measles cases and 1,212 suspected cases across the country in the last 24 hours.

According to a DGHS press release, the data were recorded from Thursday 8:00am to Friday 8:00am.

The health directorate said a total of 32,862 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide since March 15.

Among them, 29,152 patients have recovered and returned home after receiving treatment.

During the past 24 hours, one person died from confirmed measles infection, while six others with suspected measles symptoms also died, the release said.

Since March 15, the total number of deaths from confirmed measles has reached 58, while 285 suspected measles patients have died during the same period, according to the DGHS.
