THAKURGAON, May 26, 2026 (BSS) - Thakurgaon University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr.  Md Israfil Shaheen today said that he wants to transform the university into a standard and exceptional one in cooperation of all concerned. 

“We want to transform Thakurgaon University into a standard and exceptional university. Alongside education, we want to continuously arrange different activities on the open campus, focusing on local culture, traditions, heritage, problems, and potential, so that it can attract people from across the country,” he said.  

The VC made the remarks while speaking at a reception ceremony for meritorious students held at Pirganj Government College this afternoon.

Zahidur Rahman, MP for the Thakurgaon-3 constituency, Pirganj Government College Principal Prof Badrul Huda, ex-principal Krishna Mohan Roy, Vice-Principal of the government college  Prof Ekramul Haque, General Secretary of Pirganj Upazila BNP Ziaul Islam Zia, and President of Pirganj Press Club Zainal Abedin Babul were present in the event. 

Earlier, the college authorities conferred honors on VC Prof Dr.  Md Israfil Shaheen and MP Zahidur Rahman.
