Govt simplifying licensing process for industries: Dulu

RANGPUR, June 26, 2026 (BSS)- Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has said that the government has taken initiative to simplify the licensing process for industrial and business sector to create new entrepreneurs and an investment-friendly environment. 

 “As a result, entrepreneurs will be able to obtain licenses quickly and easily, which will play an important role in the development of new industrial and business establishments in the country,” he said. 
 He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the annual general meeting (AGM) of the Lalmonirhat Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Chamber Building today, a press note issued by the Rangpur Regional PID Office said.
Lalmonirhat Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Alhaj Sheikh Abdul Hamid presided over the event.
 Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Rashedul Haque Pradhan, District Council Administrator AKM Mominul Haque and Superintendent of Police Md Asaduzzaman were present as special guests.
The minister said unnecessary harassment and complications in obtaining licenses by the entrepreneurs will be eliminated. 
The government's goal is to increase employment and further accelerate the local economy by ensuring an entrepreneur-friendly environment, he said. 
 He also said that the government is taking various plans to reopen the Mogolhat Land Port in Lalmonirhat, which has remained closed for a long time. 
 In addition, communication infrastructure will be developed to expand the commercial activities of Burimari Land Port in Lalmonirhat.  
 If these initiatives are implemented, new momentum will be given to trade and commerce in the northern region and employment opportunities will also increase, he hoped. 
Lalmonirhat Chamber of Commerce and Industry members, businessmen and representatives of various classes and professions participated in the programme.

At the end of the meeting, the oath-taking of the newly elected Board of Directors (2026-2028) members was held. 
 Earlier today, the minister inspected the ongoing development projects of the adjoining Kurigram district.
