32,832 Bangladeshi Hajis return home

DHAKA, June 06, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 32,832 Bangladeshi Hajis (Who performed holy Hajj) have returned home from Saudi Arabia as of Friday following the completion of this year's Hajj held on May 26.

 "A total of 78 return flights were operated by three designated carriers -- 28 by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 31 by Saudia Airlines and 19 by Flynas Airlines," an official said. 

Hajj office said, so far, 3,328 Hajis returned under government management, while 29,504 under private travel agencies ,he said.

A total of 48 Bangladeshi pilgrims - 32 males and 16 females - passed away in Saudi Arabia during this year's Hajj. Of them, 35 died in Makkah, 12 in Madinah and one in Jeddah, while no deaths were reported in Mina or Muzdalifah.

Besides, a total 360 Hajis received treatment from various hospitals in Saudi Arabia due to illness, while 23 Hajis were hospitalized. Saudi Arabian medical centres provided treatment to 57,202, while IT help desk gave services to 26,035 Hajjis in Makkah and Madinah.

This year's Hajj operations began with the first outbound flight on April 18 and concluded on May 21.
The return Hajj flights started on May 30 and will continue until June 30.
