BGB seizes 191 bottles of Indian liquor in Jamalpur frontier

JAMALPUR, June 6, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members, in separate anti-smuggling drives, seized 191 bottles of Indian liquor from frontier areas in Roumari upazila of Kurigram district early today.

According to a press release issued by BGB's Jamalpur 35 Battalion, acting on a tip-off, a BGB team conducted a raid in the Ijlamari BOP area under Roumari upazila at around 1:00 am and recovered 156 bottles of Indian liquor.

In another operation, BGB personnel seized 35 bottles of liquor from the Boraibari BOP area of the same upazila at around 2:25 am.

The estimated market value of the seized liquor is Tk 286,500, the release said.

Separate cases have been filed with Roumari Police Station in connection with the seizures.
