Dengue awareness rally, discussion held in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, June 6, 2026 (BSS) - A dengue awareness rally and discussion meeting were held in the district town today on the initiative of the district administration to raise public awareness about dengue prevention.

The rally, which started in front of Bagerhat 250-bed Hospital at around 10:00 am, paraded through different roads of the town before ending at the hospital gate.

Later, a discussion meeting was held on the hospital premises with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Anup Das as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, he urged people to keep their surroundings clean, prevent water stagnation and remain aware to curb the spread of dengue.

Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mosammat Atia Khatun attended the programme as special guest, while Director of Bagerhat 250-bed Hospital Dr Asim Samaddar presided over the meeting.

Among others, members of Bagerhat District Red Crescent, journalists, representatives of various social and cultural organizations were present at the event.
