TIKA delegation meets social welfare minister

DHAKA, June 8, 2026 (BSS) – A delegation from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) today met Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister Abu Zafar Md Zahid Hossain today at his office in the Bangladesh Secretariat here.

TIKA Vice President Dr Ali Ercan led the delegation during the meeting, said an official handout.

During the meeting, both sides discussed in detail the strengthening of bilateral relations, particularly the expansion of TIKA’s assistance in the areas of social welfare and women and children’s development. 

The Minister praised various development projects implemented in Bangladesh through TIKA and expressed hope for greater cooperation in the future in the fields of health, education, skills development, and welfare projects for women and children.

The TIKA Vice President expressed satisfaction with the Bangladesh government’s social safety net programmes and its commitment to the development of women and children. 

He also assured continued and more effective cooperation based on the fraternal relations between the two countries.

Senior officials of the Ministry of Social Welfare were present at the meeting.
