Seminar on higher studies in the USA held at BRUR

RANGPUR, June 11, 2026 (BSS) - A seminar titled 'Session on Higher Studies in 
the United States of America' was held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur 
(BRUR) to provide higher education opportunities and guidance to students. 
 
The BRUR Scholarship Support Office organised the seminar in the virtual 
classroom of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Academic 
Building-2 of the university on Thursday afternoon. 

Vice-chancellor of the university Professor Dr M Showkat Ali was present as 
the chief guest at the seminar. 

In his speech, the chief guest said that international standard higher 
education is very important to survive in the current global competition and 
to develop the talents of the students to the maximum. 

Universities in the United States provide world-class education and research 
opportunities. 
 
Bangladeshi students have immense potential. Many of them are deprived of the 
desired opportunities due to lack of proper information and timely 
preparation. 
 
"This seminar will give students a clear idea about the scholarship, credit 
transfer and admission process in American universities, which will play a 
leading role in shaping their future career," he said. 
 
The university's Registrar (Additional Charge) Professor Dr Md Ferdous Rahman 
and Director of the Office of the Students' Affairs Prof Dr Md Ileas Pramanik 
were present as the honored guests at the event. 
 
Advisor of Education USA of the American Embassy in Dhaka Mukta Das provided 
important information and advice to the students as an invited speaker at the 
seminar. 
 
Students from different departments of the university participated in the 
seminar.
