DHAKA, June 11, 2026 (BSS) - Professor Md Jahedur Rahman of the Department of Horticulture at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) has been appointed Pro-Vice Chancellor of Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU).

The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education confirmed the appointment through a gazette notification.

According to the notification, Prof Rahman was appointed under Section 12(1) of the Gazipur Agricultural University Act, 1998 (Amended in 2025). The order takes immediate effect.

It said his tenure as Pro-Vice Chancellor will be four years from the date of joining.

Dr Md Jahedur Rahman secured first class first position with a record score among agricultural educational institutions in the country during his academic career.
