JU to hold orientation programme for freshers tomorrow

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, June 18, 2026 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University (JU) is set to hold its orientation programme for newly admitted first-year undergraduate students of the 2025-26 academic session tomorrow at the Zahir Raihan Auditorium on the campus.

The programme is scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm.

Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon is expected to attend the event as the chief guest, while JU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan will preside over it.

JU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Md. Shamsul Alam, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nazrul Islam, and Treasurer Prof. Dr. M. Abdur Rab will attend as special guests.

Director of the Students Counselling and Guidance Centre Prof. Md. Jamal Uddin will deliver the welcome address.

Acting Registrar Dr. A B M Azizur Rahman will formally present the newly admitted students to the deans of different faculties and directors of institutes for academic induction, who will subsequently welcome the students on behalf of their respective academic units.

In a statement, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the newly admitted students and welcomed them to the university. He said that accommodation arrangements had been ensured for all freshers in the residential halls.

He also expressed gratitude to hall administrations and all concerned for ensuring full residential accommodation facilities for the students.
