DHAKA, June 19, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the law enforcement agencies 
specially police have arrested 19 suspected criminals through special 
operations from the city's Jatrabari area.
 
"They were involved in various crimes under Jatrabari Police Station area," 
said a press release issued by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media 
division here today.

It said that police produced before the court.

The arrested are Shahida Begum, 40, Hasan Ullah, 38, Md Russell, 20, Md 
Nabil, 23, Md Abdullah Farhad, 23, Md Yusuf Shakib, 24, Abdur Rahman Khan 
alias Mizhu, 28, Sajal alias Auto Sajal, 31, Md Bappi, 28, Md Hanif, 
Shamsunnahar, 45, Afzal Hossain, Md Fazle Rabbi, 22, Md Babul, 32, Arfin 
Islam Chayan, 23, Md Rabiul Islam, 19, Sagar, 33, Md Mukbul Hossain, 45, and 
Naeem, 18.

According to the DMP, policemen of Jatrabari Police Station conducted a 
special operation in various crime-prone areas on Thursday (June 18) and 
arrested them allegedly engaged in various crimes.
 
During the drive, police recovered two 'Taurus' brand pistols, four magazines 
and 77 rounds of live bullets, 59 grams of heroin and 87 grams of 'Medi' used 
in preparation of heroin.

Police also seized Taka 22,960, and recovered four mobile phone sets from 
their possession.
