“The pain inflicted by the fascist Awami League government is something I still carry. I often feel it intensely. When it strikes, I cannot do any other work,” he said.

He shared this painful and harrowing experience of his life while addressing the closing session of a workshop organised by the National Mass Media Commission at a hotel in the capital today.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan presided over the programme.

Speaking emotionally, State Minister Yasser Khan said, “The brutal torture inflicted on me at the ‘Aynaghar’ during the tenure of the previous fascist government continues to torment me with both physical and mental suffering.”

Leading media personalities, senior journalists, stakeholders, and senior officials of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, including its secretary, attended the workshop.
