Seminar on drug discovery research held at RU

RAJSHAHI, June 24, 2026 (BSS) - A scientific seminar focusing on drug discovery for Alzheimer's disease, cancer and cardiac hypertrophy has been held at Rajshahi University (RU). 

The seminar was titled "Drug Discovery Targeting Receptor and Protein for Alzheimer's Disease, Cancer and Cardiac Hypertrophy Using Molecular and Cellular Approaches."

The university's Pharmacy Department, under its HEAT ATF (PIN-13150) sub-project, organized the seminar at the Engineering Faculty Gallery on Tuesday.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof Abdul Alim and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof Mamunur Rashid attended the seminar as special guests. 

Prof Golam Sadik, manager of the department's HEAT sub-project, delivered the welcome speech, while Associate Sub-Project Manager-2 Prof Aziz Abdur Rahman outlined the goals and objectives of the project. 

Prof Shahnaz Parveen, chair of the Pharmacy Department, presided over the seminar, which was moderated by Prof AHM Khurshid Alam, a member of the department's HEAT sub-project team.
