Local seaports asked to hoist warning signal 3

DHAKA, July 4, 2026 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has asked the seaports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra to hoist local warning signal number 3.

According to the Meteorological Department, the low-pressure area over the north-western Bay of Bengal and the adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coastal area have intensified into a well-marked low pressure. 

Under its influence, stormy weather may affect the seaports, the northern Bay of Bengal and the adjacent   coastal areas of Bangladesh.

Fishing boats and trawlers operating in the northern Bay of Bengal have been asked to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
