Health officials report 327 fresh cases of dengue inflection, 2 deaths overnight

DHAKA, July 13, 2026 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 327 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least two persons in the past 24 hours with most patients reporting in health facilities in southwestern Barishal region.

“During the period, (of the 327) 61 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 48 in Chattogram division, 61 in Dhaka division, 43 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 38 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 45 in Khulna division, 17 in Mymensingh division, nine in Rajshahi division, four in Rangpur division and one in Sylhet Division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 27 deaths while the disease inflicted 8,650.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
