PM mourns death of agriculture minister’s mother Amena Begum

DHAKA, Sept 8, 2026 (BSS) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Amena Begum, the mother of Agriculture and Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid.

In a message of condolence, the premier prayed to Almighty Allah for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Amena Begum died of old-age complications at her residence here this afternoon at the age of 103.

Amena Begum is survived by four sons, five daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers.
