2 soldiers killed, officer injured in Hathazari firing range accident

DHAKA, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS) – Two soldiers of Bangladesh Army were killed and an officer was seriously injured in an accident during a field firing exercise at the Hathazari Field Firing Range in Chattogram today.

The accident occurred while firing was being conducted from a tank during the exercise, said a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate this afternoon.

The injured officer is being airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka, for better treatment.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident, the ISPR added.
