Shafique for national unity to curb return of fascists

KURIGRAM, Jan 24, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has called upon the party workers to protect national unity at any cost, otherwise the fascist would get chance to come back again.

Urging the party workers not to involve in any anti-state activities, he said, everybody must work together to stop extortion and illegal grabbing of properties.

The Jamaat chief said this while addressing a rally of party workers organized by Jamaat-e-Islami at Kurigram govt college ground this morning.

Dr Shafique said, “We must have to create a humanitarian Bangladesh by keeping the national unity unbroken.”

Jamaat leader said the government led by Awami League had siphoned off Taka 26 lakh crore in the name of development. Rehabilitation of the fascists would happen never again on the soil of this country, he said.

With district Jamaat Ameer Prof. Abdul Matin Faruqui in the chair, the rally was addressed, among others, by Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh Abdul Halim, central working council member Barrister Salehin and Prof. Azizur Rahman Shawpan, Prof. Maulana Mamtazuddin, Prof. Mahbubur Rahman Belal, Secretary Maulana Nizam Uddin, Assistant Secretary Maulana Abdul Hamid, Shahjalal Sabuj and local leaders.

The Jamaat chief said, trial of all killings, forced disappearance and evil activities which occurred in the last 53 years since January 10, 1972, will be held on the soil of this land.

He called for bringing to light the list of the miscreants who were involved with attacking people of different religious faiths, land grabbing, illegal eviction, plundering and raping.
