NARSINGDI, Feb 8, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan today said that government officials and employees play a crucial role in providing constitutional services to the nation.

He said, "You serve the 180 million people of this country constitutionally, which makes your role highly significant."

He made these remarks while addressing as the chief guest at a picnic and introductory meeting of the Bangladesh Secretariat Officers and Employees United Council at Dream Holiday Park in Panchdona, Narsingdi this afternoon.

Moyeen Khan said, "Our constitution mentions three pillars of the state -the Legislative, the Judiciary and the Executive. The Secretariat is the Executive Branch and an integral part of state governance. Therefore, you are an essential part of the state."

He added, "Government officials and employees have endured difficult times over the past 16 years. Many of you have communicated with me during that time, and I urged you to be patient. You remained patient, and now you can dream of better days. No injustice can last forever. Now, injustice and autocracy have been removed from Bangladesh."

The BNP leader urged officials to ensure harassment-free public services, saying, "We must learn from the oppression, persecution, and injustice that you and we faced under the previous government. If we are elected by the people and form the government, we will eliminate all injustices and ensure you receive due dignity."

During the event, a 51-member executive committee of the Bangladesh Secretariat Officers and Employees United Council for the 2025-26 term was announced.
