19 held in Ctg for attacking protestors during July uprising

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 9, 2025 (BSS) - Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested a total of 19 leaders and activists of Awami League, Chattra League, and Jubo League for attacking protestors during the student-led mass uprising in July and August last year.

A team of CMP conducted drives in different areas of the port city in the last 24 hours, ending at 2 pm today, and arrested them.

The detained leaders and activists of the ousted ruling Awami League and its different front organizations have been implicated in several cases under the anti-terrorism act for attacks and other criminal activities during the student-led mass uprising.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media and PR) CMP Mahmuda Begum said most of the arrestees are accused of several cases.
