Joint forces detain 5 terrorists in Hatia

DHAKA, Feb 09, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Navy-led joint forces last night in 
several joint operations at different places in Hatia upazila of Noakhali 
district and detained five alleged terrorists.

The members of Bangladesh Navy, Coast Guard and Police jointly conducted the 
drives based on secret information, a release of the Directorate of the 
Inter-Services of Public Relations (ISPR) told BSS this evening.

The arrested were Chairman of No-5 Char Ishwar Union Parishad (UP) Alauddin-
Al-Azad, Abdul Majed Palash, Abdul Jaher Pintu, Sirajul Islam Rafsan and Abul 
Kalam Bitu, the ISPR release said.

Accused in several criminal cases, they were involved in various types of 
sabotage activities, robbery, extortion and terrorist activities in Hatia, 
the release mentioned. 

During the raids, the joint forces recovered various types of local weapons 
from their possession. They were handed over to Hatia Police Station, the 
ISPR added.
