Salman, Anisul, Dipu Moni, 7 others shown arrested in fresh uprising cases

DHAKA, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today showed 10 people including Salman F Rahman, Anisul Huq, and Dr Dipu Moni arrested in cases lodged with different police stations in the capital over crimes committed during the student-led July-August mass uprising.
 
 The other people, who were shown arrested in cases today, are - Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Sadek Khan, Golam Kibria Tipu, Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, Jamal Mostofa, Tajul Islam Taju and Rokeya Jamal.
 
 Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiak passed the orders as police produced the 10 accused before the court and pleaded to show them arrested in these cases.
 
 Of the 10, Sadek Khan was shown arrested in two murder cases filed with the Mohammadpur Police Station, while Anisul Huq was shown arrested in four cases filed with the Jatrabari Police Station. Salman F Rahman was shown arrested in two cases and Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun was shown arrested in four cases lodged with the Jatrabari Police Station. Dr Dipu Moni and Palak were shown arrested in one fresh case.
 
 Meanwhile, former Barishal-3 lawmaker Golam Kibria Tipu was shown arrested in a case lodged over an attack on Begum Khaleda Zia's motorcade in 2015, while Kafrul thana Awami League president Jalal Mostofa, Dhaka North city Awami League joint secretary Rokeya Jamal and Kafrul thana Awami League vice president Tajul Islam Taju were shown arrested in Mamun murder case.
