Ex-MP Nikhil's close aide Rinku held in city

DHAKA, Feb 11, 2025 (BSS) – Joint forces on Monday afternoon arrested
a close associate of former Awami League (AL) lawmaker from Dhaka-
14 constituency from the city’s Mirpur area under the nationwide
‘Operation Devil Hunt’.    

The arrested has been identified as Ripon Ahmed Rinku (30), also an
active member of the Jubo League and an armed terrorist and controller
of a teenage gang.

He was arrested from the block-R of Mirpur-2 at 5:25 pm on Monday by
the joint forces, said a police press release.
 
Rinku had played a leading role in suppressing the anti-discrimination
student movement in the Mirpur area and was accused in multiple cases
in this connection, police said.
