Police arrest 39 under operation devil hunt in Mymensingh

MYMENSINGH, Feb 11, 2025 (BSS) – Police arrested a total of 39 leaders and activists of Awami League (AL) and its banned student wing Chhatra League during operation devil hunt in the last two days.

Of them, 23 leaders and activists were arrested during the last 24-hour, said Police Super Kazi Akhter Ul Alam.

Of the arrestees, six were arrested under Mymensingh Kotwali Model police station, 3 under Gafargaon police station, and two each under Bhaluka, Phulbaria, Isurganj, Muktagacha and Haluaghat police stations and one each from Trishal, Nandail, Gouripur and bordering Dobaura police stations.

Earlier, 16 leaders and activists were also arrested on the first day of the joint force operation. All of them were involved in the politics of AL and its banned student wing Chhatra League.

The arrested leaders and activists were sent to the court, said the police super.
