Ex-state minister Enamur on 5-day remand in student killing case

DHAKA, Feb 12, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed former state minister 
for disaster management and relief Dr Enamur Rahman on a five-day remand in a 
case lodged over the murder of Comilla University student Abdul Qaium, 25, in 
Savar area during the anti-discrimination student movement.
 
Dhaka Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate KM Mohiuddin passed the order as 
police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place him on a 
10-day remand.
 
Qaium was gunned down, while taking part in an anti-discrimination rally in 
the Savar bus stand area on August 5. His mother Kulsum Begum filed the case 
with the Savar Model Police Station.
 
Detective Branch (DB) of the police arrested Dr Enamur Rahman from the city's 
Bhatara area in the early hours of January 27.
