ACC sues Masuma, her husband ex-ASP Badrul over graft charges

DHAKA, Feb 12, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against Masuma Alam and her husband retired Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) SM Badrul Alam for allegedly owing and possessing assets inconsistent with the income sources submitted in the taxes file.  

ACC Deputy Director and Public Relations Officer (PRO) Aktarul Islam briefed the newsmen at its Headquarter today, saying that ACC Assistant Director Bijan Kumar filed the case today at the ACC’s Gopalganj district office.

He said Masuma Alam declared the acquisition of immovable and immovable assets worth over Tk 2 crore , 82 lakh, 79 thousand and 669 crore.

In the wealth statement, the ACC got an acceptable income is about Tk 2 crore, 34 lakh, 88 thousand and 499.

 The ACC investigation found that in this case Masuma Alam has acquired and occupied the wealth and property of her husband former ASP Badrul Alam, worth about Tk 60 lakh, 38 thousand and 832, which was not mentioned in the wealth statement  

 A case has been filed against them for committing punishable offenses.
