28 AL activists arrested in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM , Feb 12 , 2025 ( BSS)- Twenty eight leaders and activists of Awami League and it’s front organizations including a Swecchasebok League leader of Munshigonj district were arrested during special drives conducted by Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) in last 24 hours ended at 12 noon today.
 
Police picked up them from different parts of the city on charges of their involvement in violence and other criminal activities particularly for attacking students and protesters during July-August Anti-Discrimination Movement, CMP sources said.  

CMP’s Media and Public Relation Dept sources said Sheuli Yeasmin, women affairs secretary of Munshigonj district Swecchasebok League is also among the detained persons.
 
Yeasmin, wife of a BNP leader of Chattogram City’s Bakolia Ward and was staying at her father-in-laws house here to hide arrest  after fall of autocratic Hasina government on August 5 last year.
 
OC (Investigation) of Bakolia Police Mozammel Haq said Yeasmin left her paternal home under Mirkadim Pourasava in Munshigonj after August 5 and has taken shelter at her father-in-law’s house at Meah Khan Nagar here in the city.

She was arrested on suspicion as allegation against her could not be known immediately. She sent to court for further legal action.
