ICT allows probe body to interrogate ex-lawmaker ABM Fazle Karim

DHAKA, April 8, 2025 (BSS) - The ICT today allowed its investigation agency to interrogate former lawmaker from Chattogram-6 constituency ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury on April 16 in a case lodged over crimes against humanity committed in Chattogram during the July-August mass uprising.

The three-judge panel, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), passed the order allowing a plea of the prosecution.

The ICT on March 25 last issued an arrest warrant against 15 people including former education minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, former mayors of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury and AJM Nasir Uddin and former lawmaker ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury in the case.

Of the 15, Fazle Chowdhury and Jubo League leader Mohammad Feroz were produced before the tribunal today. 

The tribunal sent Feroz to jail after showing him arrested in the case and allowed its probe body to interrogate Chowdhury on April 16.
