DHAKA, May 2, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has stood by Md Raiyan Ahmed Raihan, who lost his eyesight after getting bullet injury during the July mass uprising in Barishal on August 4, 2024.

BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam went to the injured Raihan's house located in the Kali Bari Road area in Barishal city and inquired about his treatment on behalf of the acting chairman.

He conveyed financial assistance and promised all medical assistance. July fighter Raihan became emotional after receiving greetings from BNP acting Chairman and thanked him.

Raihan, a former student of Stamford University took part in a procession on August 4, demanding the fall of Awami League government. A total of 56 sprinter bullets pierced his face one by one, losing the sight in his left eye.

Dr. Jamshed Ali, Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Dr. Riyadur Rahman, Dr. Mohibullah, Dr. Faisal Khan, Dr. Saikat, Dr. Rezwan Tahsin, other doctors who provided his treatment, and local BNP leaders and activists were present.
