DHAKA, May 8, 2025 (BSS) - In a nationwide operation to maintain law and order, 1538 more crime suspects were arrested in the last 24 hours, said a press release of the Police Headquarters.

Of the detainees, 1048 individuals were apprehended in connection with previous cases and outstanding warrants, while 490 others were detained on different criminal charges.

A foreign-made pistol, one revolver, one shutter gun, one magazine six bullets and three cartridges were seized during the operations.

With the latest arrests, a total of 21,777 alleged miscreants were arrested in the 16 days since the nationwide drive to capture miscreants started afresh.
