DHAKA, May 14, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on nine people including former chairman of the Standard Bank Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, his son and director Kazi Khurram Ahmed.

Senior Special Judge of Dhaka Metropolitan Md Zakir Hossain Ghalib passed the order upon separate petitions filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The remaining others upon whom the travel ban was imposed are Moshiure Securities City Centre Chairman Moshiur Rahman, directors Mogol Jan Rahman and Ziaul Hanas Chishti, Dhaka North City Corporation 30 no ward councilor Abul Kashem Kashu, his wife Asma Kashem and daughter Umme Kulsum.

In the petition filed against Standard Bank chairman Akram, the ACC said that it is necessary to impose travel ban on Akram and his family members as they may leave the country which can hamper the inquiry into the allegation of amassing huge assets by Akram misusing his power while Awami League was in power.
