DHAKA, July 7, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today convicted and sentenced a youth to life imprisonment in a case lodged for raping a child in Rupnagar area of Kamrangirchar in 2022.
Judge Munshi Md Moshiar Rahman of Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-4 pronounced the judgment in the presence of the convict, Md Raju Miah, 28, and sent him back to jail with the conviction warrant.
The court also fined the convict Taka one lakh.
According to the case documents, the convict repeatedly raped the 11-year-old daughter of his neighbor on January 9, and January 15, 2022, and threatened her not to reveal it to anyone. The victim's father filed the case on January 25, 2022.
Police on May 10, 2022, filed a charge sheet against the sole accused. The court on, different hearing dates, examined a total of eight witnesses and came up with the judgment today.
