Anisul, Salman, Amu, Dipu Moni shown arrested in more cases

DHAKA, July 9, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today shown arrested former law minister Anisul Huq, adviser of the former premier Salman F Rahman, former ministers Amir Hossain Amu and Dr Dipu Moni and nine others in various cases filed for attacking protest rallies during the July mass uprising. 

Metropolitan Magistrate Masum Mia passed the order and sent them to jails upon separate petitions of showing them arrested afresh in several cases. 

Investigation officers (IOs) produced them before the Dhaka's Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court with separate appeals to show them arrested in various cases filed with Jatrabari Police Station in the capital.

The other accused shown arrested in the cases are former state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former IGP AKM Shahidul Haque, former secretary Jahangir Alam, former lawmaker Kazi Monirul Islam Monu and former OC of Jatrabari Police Station Abul Hasan.

Of them, Kazi Monirul Islam Monu was shown arrested in eight cases. Anisul Haque, Abul Hasan, Jahangir Alam, Palak and Shahidul Haque were shown arrested in two cases each. Salman, Dipu Moni and Amu were shown arrested in one case each.

Police arrested Anisul Haque and Salman F Rahman on August 13 while Dipu Moni on August 19, Amu on November 6, Shahidul Haque on September 4, Jahangir Alam on October 1, Abul Hasan on September 17 and Palak on August 15 last year and Monu on April 21 this year.
