Ex-MP Nadvi's PA held in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, July 13, 2025 (BSS)- Kotwali Thana Police has arrested Russel 
Uddin, former councilor of Ward No. 8 of Satkania Municipality, on charges of 
attacking an anti-discrimination student movement. 

He was the personal assistant (PA) of former Awami League (AL) Member of 
Parliament (MP) from Chattogram-15 (Satkania-Lohagara) constituency Dr Abu 
Reza Nezamuddin Muhammad Nadvi, police said. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station Abdul Karim confirmed Russel 
Uddin's arrest today and said he was arrested from the city's Kotwali area on 
Saturday night. 

Police revealed that Russel is accused of attacking students and the public 
during the anti-discrimination student movement. He had been evading 
authorities for some time and was finally caught based on secret information. 

Russel has been arrested as a suspect in a case related to assaulting during 
the anti-discrimination movement and will present in court after completing 
all necessary legal procedures, the OC mentioned.
