Bangladesh bat first in 2nd WC game against England

DHAKA, Oct 7, 2025 (BSS) - England Women's team skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt won the toss and sent Bangladesh into bat first in their ICC Cricket World Cup game at Guwahati, India, today.

Both teams came into the game with a victory behind them in their first match. Bangladesh beat Pakistan by seven wickets to make a strong start to the World Cup, while England thrashed South Africa in comprehensive manner to live up to their potential of winning the coveted trophy.

"We would have actually batted," Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty told the broadcasters after the toss.

Bangladesh made two changes from the victory over Pakistan.

Bangladesh: Rubya Haider Jhilik, Sharmin Akhter Supta, Nigar Sultana Joty (capt & wk), Sobhana Mostary, Ritu Moni, Shorna Akter, Fahima Khatun, Nahida Akter, Rabeya Khan, Marufa Akter, and Sanjida Akter Meghla.

England: Tammy Beaumont, Amy Jones (wk), Heather Knight, Nat Sciver-Brunt (capt), Sophia Dunkley, Emma Lamb, Alice Capsey, Charlie Dean, Sophie Ecclestone, Linsey Smith, and Lauren Bell.
