Ringleaders of 'Ayesha Group' of Mohammadpur with his accomplice held in Savar

DHAKA, July 14, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Sunday arrested the ringleader of the 'Ayesha Group' along with one of his accomplices from Savar, on the outskirts of the capital city. 

The arrested have been identified as 'Ayesha Group' head Md. Asad alias Arshad Prakash alias Ayesha (35) and his associate Yusuf (40). 

A squad of the RAB-2 arrested the duo from Bhakurtya area under Savar Police Station along with six samurais. 

Additional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Commander of RAB-2 Khalidul Haque Hawlader briefed the media about the arrests at RAB Media Centre at Kawran Bazar here today. 

 During the preliminary interrogation, Ayesha said that he had lived in the Adabar area since his birth and had been working as a mason since childhood.

Later, he joined the group of Mohammadpur's top terrorist, Anwar alias Kobjikata Anwar. 

He said that he and his associates used to carry out various criminal activities including extortion, drug dealing, land grabbing, theft, robbery, and murder in Mohammadpur, Adabar and surrounding areas under the orders of Kobjikata Anwar. 

Usually, during the day, they divide into small groups and rob pedestrians in less crowded places in different areas, taking them hostage and robbing them of valuables such as cash, mobile phones, laptops, vanity bags, etc., and when it gets late at night, they entered houses, flats and cars and loot everything at gunpoint. 

"RAB-2 will continue such operations in the future to contain crimes," the commander said. 

Legal action was taken against the arrestees.
