PATUAKHALI, July 14, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam today said all forces in Bangladesh must unite against external enemy.

"Divisions have been created within the forces of the uprising. We have always said the enemy is not within Bangladesh, but outside," he made the comments while addressing a rally outside the Patuakhali Circuit House here.

Nahid claimed that 'Mujibism' created divisions in Bangladesh, and the 'Mujibist' constitution prevented the nation from moving forward.

Mentioning that they (NCP) do not want division or disunity, the NCP Convener said, "But if any force stands against the people or the July uprising, then unity with them is simply not possible."

He also alleged that during the July uprising, the then government of Sheikh Hasina actively conspired against them.

"Even after the uprising, that same corrupt, mafia-influenced system - run by both civil and non-civil bureaucracy - continues to conspire against us," he added.

He claimed that various elements of Bangladesh's establishments have been conspiring against the uprising.

"Yet time and again, divisions are created within the country itself to weaken us and to spread disunity among us," he stated.

Nahid also alleged that a range of conspiracies are being orchestrated against them via social media and mainstream media also.

"From Patuakhali, we want to declare: no matter how many conspiracies arise, our street march will continue. Do not fear - move forward," he urged.

He added, "NCP is here in Patuakhali as part of the July March to build a better country. We are at the threshold of the one-year anniversary of the July uprising. A year ago, the students, youth, and people of Bangladesh stood up and fought against dictatorship and fascism."

"After the uprising, we said this mafia-corrupt system must be dismantled. But now, we are seeing new parties emerge to protect this system. Where one party once safeguarded extortion, now another party has taken its place. Another group is preserving this same corrupt system," he said.

He added, "We had clearly announced- we do not just want the fall of Hasina, we want the end of corruption and mafia rule. That is why we said the fascist system must be abolished and a new political framework must be established. We are now engaged in that struggle."

Nahid said that ever since the uprising-which aimed to dismantle the existing system-that very system is actively working to suppress the uprising's youth leadership and preventing it from gaining political ground.

"Conspiracies targeting us have persisted from the time of the uprising right up to the present," he remarked.

Speakers at the street rally included central leaders Hasnat Abdullah, Dr. Tasnim Jara, Shamanta Sharmin, Sarjis Alam, and Mujahidul Islam Shahin. Also in attendance were families of martyred and injured during the July Uprising.

Earlier, around 12:00pm, the street march began from the local Circuit House and passed through New Market, Sadar Road, Launch Ghat, Puran Bazar, and Hotel Bonani area, before concluding at the Circuit House area.

Following the rally, the NCP office in Patuakhali district was officially inaugurated.
