DHAKA, July 14, 2025 (BSS) - Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) President Rakibul Islam Rakib today said the general students are not involved in mob culture and they would not fall into the trap of such a culture.

"General students have no connection with the mob culture. A handful of students have dishonored the image and reputation of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. But the general students did not support them," he said

Rakib made the remarks while participating in a protest rally at Nayapaltan against the deteriorating law and order situation across the country.

He added, “We believe that the student community recognizes the contributions of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, and understands that Tarique Rahman’s leadership is essential for building the future Bangladesh and safeguarding its independence and sovereignty. That's why the students would not fall into this trap"

JCD organized the protest rally to condemn the deterioration law and order, attempts to create public unrest, and to disrupt the congenial academic environment in educational institutions.

During the event, JCD General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir said, "Using the banner of so-called general students and centering the Mitford murder, a clandestine organization misled general students to create a mob against BNP. It is deeply regrettable that they also spread propaganda against our party's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman."

“Our today’s protest rally is against these malicious activities. Through this, we want to make our stance clear. However, we do not intend to create any kind of disorder,” he added.

They started the pre-announced protest rally around 3:30 pm from in front of the central office in Nayapaltan. The procession marched through Kakrail, Matsya Bhaban, Press Club, Curzon Hall, and TSC, concluding at Shahbagh intersection.

Leaders and activists from various units of the JCD, including central, Dhaka University, Dhaka Mohanagar, and other universities and colleges in the capital, took part in the  procession.
