500 patients get Tk 250cr as financial assistance at BMU

DHAKA, July 15, 2025 (BSS) – The government’s Social Services Department has provided financial assistance to a total of 500 patients, undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) with cancer, kidney, liver cirrhosis, stroke paralyzed, congenital heart disease and Thalassemia. 

As part of this initiative, the Social Service Office today donated cheque of Taka 50 thousand each to some 100 patients today at BMU’s Shaheed Dr. Milton Hall while rest of the 400 patients will be provided subsequently.

BMU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad handed over financial assistance to 100 patients as the chief guest. 

BMU Director Brigadier General Abu Noman Mohammad Moslehuddin, Hospital’s Additional Director Dr. Hasnat Ahsan Suman, Assistant Director Dr. Md Abu Naser, Social Service Officer Samia Ismat Sohely, Social Services Department’s  Officer Rumana Yasmin, among others, were present there.
