DRU signs MoU with Bangladesh-China Apon Media Club to boost collaboration

DHAKA, July 15, 2025 (BSS) – Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh-China Apon Media Club to enhance collaboration between Bangladesh and Chinese media. 

Moinul Hasan Sohel, General Secretary of DRU and Olivia Chu, representative of Bangladesh-China Apon Media Club signed the agreement here on behalf of their respective organizations, said a press release.

Welcoming the DRU delegates at the ceremony, Yu Kuang Yue, Director of the Bangla Department of CMG, expressed happiness over signing of the agreement. 

Regarding the bilateral ties exist between the two countries over the past 50 years, he said media played a crucial role in strengthening the relations. “This MoU will play a vital role for further strengthening collaboration between Chinese and Bangladeshi media,” he hoped.

DRU General Secretary Moinul Hasan Sohel said the agreement will open up new avenues for cooperation in sectors like tourism, health, and education. This initiative will contribute to further solidifying economic ties between the two nations, he added. 

DRU Vice-President Gazi Anwar, Joint Secretary Nadia Sharmin, Organization Secretary Abdul Hai Tuhin, Women Affairs Secretary Rozina Rozy and Publicity and Publication Secretary Mizan Chowdhury, among others, were present at the event. 

During the event, discussions were held on future collaborations including information exchange programs, journalist trainings, and launching awards for best reporting, aimed at fostering deeper ties and professional development.
