DHAKA, July 15, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Army today handed over the repaired or rebuilt houses and necessary furniture to the 14 fire affected families in Jashore.

On May 22, 2025, unidentified assailants set the houses of 14 families in the Dahrmashiahati area of Abhaynagar upazila of Jashore on fire due to clashes, according to an ISPR press release here. 

Later, the Bangladesh Army took the initiative to repair or rebuild the houses of the affected families and provide them necessary furniture. 

The work was completed on July 12 and today, GOC 55 Infantry Division and Area Commander, Jessore Area, Major General J M Emdadul Islam formally handed over the repaired or rebuilt houses and necessary furniture to the affected families, the ISPR said.

This humanitarian initiative has been widely appreciated. Currently, the situation in the area is stable and the army is engaged in maintaining peace and security there.
