Jamaat-e-Islami seeks speedy recovery of Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

DHAKA, July 31, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament, Professor Mujibur Rahman, issued a statement today expressing deep concern over the sudden illness of the party's Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, and called for his swift recovery.

According to the statement, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman fell ill on Wednesday and is currently receiving medical treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka.

Professor Rahman emphasized Dr. Rahman's pivotal role in both national and international affairs, stating that his leadership and guidance are especially critical during this challenging time for the country.

"We urge all citizens, Jamaat-e-Islami members and supporters at all levels, as well as well-wishers both at home and abroad, to pray for his speedy and complete recovery," the statement read.

"May Almighty Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) grant our Ameer good health and the strength to continue his work for the welfare of the country and its people," it added.
