DHAKA, Aug 24, 2025 (BSS) - In the 181st public hearing of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) at Sirajganj District Shilpakala Academy auditorium, 105 out of a total of 140 complaints were heard and initiatives were taken to resolve various complaints.
The ACC's Integrated District Office in Pabna organized the public hearing on Saturday.
ACC Commissioner (Investigation) Mian Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi was the chief guest at the public hearing.
“If you see inconsistencies, irregularities and corruption in the society, you have to be vocal to prevent it,” said the ACC commissioner.
Although it is difficult to eradicate corruption spread at all levels of society, it is possible to reduce the level of corruption to a large extent with the awareness of service recipients and the sincerity of service providers, he said.
Calling on the employees of government and autonomous departments to work responsibly for the welfare of themselves and the country, Azizi warned that no one will be spared for wrongdoings, and today's public hearing is a big proof of that.
Sirajganj Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nazrul Islam presided over the event.
ACC Director General (Prevention) Md. Akhter Hossain, Director General (Investigation-1) Md. Rezaul Kabir, Sirajganj Superintendent of Police Md. Faruk Hossain and Rajshahi Divisional Director, ACC Md. Fazlul Haque were present as special guests.
Out of the 36 complaints received against government, autonomous and private departments in the public hearing, 105 complaints were heard as they were included in the ACC's schedule.
Out of these, 32 complaints were ordered to be investigated by the ACC, 26 complaints were taken to be settled departmentally, 34 complaints were resolved immediately, and 3 complaints could not be decided as they were pending in the court.
ACC officials said such public hearings build public confidence against corruption and have a positive impact on improving the quality of services in government offices.
