Two leaders of banned BCL land in jail

DHAKA, Aug 24, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sent to jail two leaders of banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) including its former vice-president Abu Sama in a case lodged under Anti-Terrorism Act.

The other accused, who was sent to jail, is Pirojpur Telikhali Union BCL President Md Jahidul Islam.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarah Farzana Haque passed the order as police produced the duo before the court and pleaded to keep them behind the bars till end of the probe.

According to the case documents, the accused along with their associates brought out an anti-state procession in Gulistan Golap Shah Mazar area, aimed at breaching the security and creating havoc in the country on March 26, 2025. They fled the scene as soon as police arrived. 

Later, police filed the case with Paltan Police Station.
